Features And General Specifications
The Berty type reactor is a complete, ready-to-use internal recycle reactor package that requires only utility connections and process setup prior to operation. Fast to load, start, heat up and cool down, the Berty type reactor greatly improves laboratory efficiency by reducing down time.
A two-stage turbine produces a powerful pumping action which results in super effective contact between the fluid and catalyst. Space velocity and mass velocity can be changed easily and independently. The packless shaft assures safe, leak-free and contamination-free operation.
Working Pressure & Temperature
Atmospheric pressure to 2000 psi (138 bar) at 450° C. Consult factory for pressure conditions at higher operating temperatures.
Operating Speed
Variable from 200 to 6000 rpm.
Catalyst Charge
This 4" unit accepts a 60 ml catalyst basket with a one pellet minimum capacity; optional inserts are available to reduce basket capacity for specific studies.
Motor
An integral permanent magnetic type DC motor with no external moving parts drives the two-stage turbine using a closed-loop variable speed controller. The unit is wired for a 11OV, 1 ph, 50/60 Hz power supply.
Heating and Cooling
A 2 kW cast bronze mantle heater with imbedded cooling tubes assures rapid heat-up and cool-down. The unit requires a 230V, 1 ph, 50/60 Hz power supply.
Materials of Construction
Type 316SS is used for principal process contacting parts. Other materials can be furnished upon request.
